PEO Model


This is a Professional Employer Organization, which could be a fit for smaller sized companies; a one-stop service provider that allows business owners to concentrate on running the day-to-day business operations and yet provide employees with benefits usually reserved for the larger employer.  The PEO model “pools together” hundreds of companies representing tens of thousands of employees.  This is a co-employment model where the PEO is employer of record for employment & benefit purposes, assuming many of the responsibilities and liabilities.

Employees on payroll are able to participate in the PEO’s health, retirement and supplemental benefits as well as being covered by workers compensation.  The PEO also takes care of the payroll, including everything from printing the checks to reporting and paying the employment taxes.  The PEO also provides human resources and compliance expertise.

Supplemental & Voluntary


Voluntary and Supplemental plans are designed to assist with the financial impact of life-changing events. Supplemental plans enrich a company’s benefits portfolio at no direct cost to the bottom line.

Employees may elect coverage that is solely paid for by that employee through payroll deduction but some plans do allow for employer contribution. There are plans that are ‘guarantee issue’; and others that do require a brief health history approval. The plans are usually portable so the employee may continue the coverage upon leaving the employment. Minimum participation may apply.
